They’ve long been one of the most glamorous and enduring couples in Hollywood.
And on Wednesday Will Smith shared some very specific details about just how close he is to wife of 20 years Jada Pinkett.
The 49-year-old Independence Day star told TIDAL’s Rap Radar podcast that the pair have moved beyond the concept of marriage.
‘We don’t even say we’re married anymore,’ admitted the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air actor.
‘We refer to ourselves as life partners, where you get into that space where you realize you are literally with somebody for the rest of your life,’ he continued.
He then went on to explain that he is completely committed to Jada, and nothing will change their relationship at this point.
‘There’s no deal breakers. There’s nothing she could do — ever. Nothing that would break our relationship. She has my support till death, and it feels so good to get to that space.’
It seems Jada is on the same page, as she told the Sway Universe radio show last month some very similar things about her relationship with Will.
‘Here’s the thing about Will and I, [we] are family. That is never going down,’ she told the outlet.
‘We are family. Take out all that whole marriage/relationship crap, at the end of the day, Will, and I are family. I am going to hold him down, doesn’t matter. All that relationship and what people think ideas of a husband, partner and all that, man, whatever. At the end of the day, that is a man that can rely on me for the rest of his life, period.’
Will and Jada share two children, son Jaden, 19, and daughter Willow, 17.
The sometime rapper also has a son, Trey, 25, from a previous relationship.
“Because I did not understand marriage, I did not understand divorce … I probably should have fell back,” the actress admitted.
“You think?” Fletcher said in the candid conversation. Watch the episode below:
