‘I think he should step aside,’ said McConnell in his home state of Kentucky, in a call that was immediately followed by three of his Republican colleagues.
The internal pressure came as the latest woman accuser, Beverly Young Nelson, says she was 15 or 16 when Moore gave her a ride home from the restaurant where she worked in Etowah County, Alabama, where he was a prosecutor in the 1970s.
She said she tried to fight Moore off as he went after her in his locked car and forced her head into his crotch.
‘Mr. Moore attacked me when I was a child. I did nothing to deserve this sexual attack,’ she said.
