Tyler Perry never stops amazing his fans.
On Thursday, Perry announced that he had paid for all items that were on layaway at two separate Walmart stores in Georgia.
The 49-year-old filmmaker took to his social media accounts to share the news.
“I was trying to do this anonymously, but due to some circumstances — y’all know nothing stays secret these days,” he said in the video.
He gave specific instructions to all of the people who had items waiting at the East Point and Douglasville Walmart locations in Georgia.
“You gotta go into the Walmart, get your layaway and pay a penny, one penny, and you get your layaway,” Perry said in the video post. “I know it’s hard times. A lot of people are struggling, and I’m just really, really grateful to be able to be in a position to do this.”
“So, God bless you, go get your stuff and Merry Christmas,” Perry added.

Walmart confirmed that Perry paid off the people’s layaway items, spending approximately $430,000 in total.
“Tyler Perry’s generous donation is making an unbelievable difference for so many families, and we can’t thank him enough for his kindness,” a statement from Walmart read. “The heartfelt excitement and joy we’re seeing from our customers as a result of his holiday gift has been touching.”
The company also thanked Perry again on Twitter.
“Talk about a Merry Christmas! Tyler Perry just reminded everyone of the true meaning of the season. THANK YOU! #SparkKindness,” the company wrote.
Perry is known for being a generous giver.
In September Perry purchased a $350,000 home for a sick woman, who dreamed of having a home big enough for her entire family to live in.
Perry heard that LaShun Pace’s mother had fallen sick. Although Pace hadn’t worked for Perry since 1999, he couldn’t help grant the woman’s dying wish.
Before that, Perry gave a job opportunity to Geoffrey Owens after he was job shamed for working part-time at a Trader Joes in between acting gigs.
Owens is well known for his role in The Cosby Show, whose last episode aired in 1992.
“#GeoffreyOwens I’m about to start shootings OWN’s number one drama next week!” Tyler Perry tweeted. “Come join us!!! I have so much respect for people who hustle between gigs. The measure of a true artist.”
A couple of days after Perry made the offer, Owens confirmed to media outlets that he accepted the offer. A couple weeks later, Perry kept his promise and created a role for Owens on his popular show “The Haves And The Have Nots.”
Earlier this year in July, Perry purchased Tiffany Haddish her dream car as a surprise gift to her.
“I cried so hard. I almost couldn’t believe it,” Tiffany wrote on Instagram. “I have always had to make payments. This was just out the kindness of his heart And probably tired of me talking about it all the time, and I didn’t have to do anything for it but a Great job in our New Movie Nobody’s Fool. Thank God for kind people that want to spread happiness.”
