A shocking video clip shows a McDonald’s employee in Jacksonville, Florida slapping a customer who is said to have thrown a cup of coffee at her.
In the footage which went viral, the worker is seen yelling at the customer.
She then comes from behind the cash register to approach her.

Witnesses say that the incident was precipitated by the customer throwing a cup of coffee at the employee
Details of the incident were reported by Actions News Jax.
The employee then slaps her, sending the woman’s glasses to the floor.
The altercation took place at the McDonald’s location on Beach Boulevard near St. Johns Bluff Road in the Florida city.
‘Did you throw that drink at me?!’ the employee is heard yelling in the video.
A witness said he was shocked by the incident.
‘I’m speechless. I’m blown away by that one,’ said customer Eddie Ford, who criticized the cashier.
‘I think it’s totally unprofessional [for the employee to hit a customer].’
Ford said he had no sympathy for the woman, even though it appears the customer instigated the altercation.
‘Your job is customer service, and you come behind the counter and fight a consumer? That’s crazy,’ said Ford.
‘You’re the face of the company.’
McDonald’s released a statement saying it was investigating the incident.
‘I do not condone the behavior depicted in this video,’ said Debbie Moreland, the owner and operator of the McDonald’s location.
‘We are currently investigating this matter.’
