Robber flashes a smile at security camera while holding victim at gunpoint during Philadelphia deli hold-up


A man who was caught on security cameras robbing a deli in West Philadelphia on Saturday flashed a wide smile as he was holding a victim at gunpoint.

The thief, who was wearing a gray hoodie and a black vest, was in the process of holding up the 55th Deli Market at around 8.30pm on Saturday.

Surveillance camera footage shows the man enter the store, approach the counter as if he is making a purchase, and pull out a handgun and demand money from the register.

The suspect then flees the scene, making off with unspecified amounts of cash, according to the Philadelphia police.

Police are asking the community to help provide clues as to the suspect’s identity.

He is described as a black male in his mid-to-late 20s with a thin build, mustache, goatee and side burns.

The suspect also has a gap between his front teeth.

He was wearing a black vest with a gray hooded sweatshirt underneath, jeans, a black winter hat, and he was armed with a black handgun.
