Many Think Pastor John Gray Spent The Church Money When Gifting His Wife A $200K Lambo

Pastor John Gray has made headlines a lot recently with fans criticizing his acts. First, many were upset about his visit to the white house to speak with President Donald Trump, and now fans are upset that he’s gifted his wife an expensive luxury car. The South Carolina pastor and his wife, Aventer Gray, had a beautiful wedding renewal ceremony in celebration of their eight year anniversary. Gray gifted his wife a $200K Urus Lamborghini truck, and while some thought the gift was amazing, others accused Gray of spending the church money on the luxury car.
After receiving backlash, the 45-year-old took to Facebook to sound off of the controversy in a video.
“It wasn’t a pastor that bought the car; it was a husband that bought the car. Get that in your spirit,” he said. “I’m a husband first. Don’t confuse what I do with who I am. What I do is I pastor God’s people. Who I am is a husband and a father, and I’ll do anything to honor them.”
Gray also addressed the rumors that he paid for the $200K car with the church’s money.
“The answer is no,” he said. “Absolutely not. And God takes my life on this live feed if I did.”
The pastor goes into detail about the many business ventures and streams of income that he has that has allowed him to buy his wife’s dream car.
“For those who don’t know, me and my wife have a show on the Oprah Winfrey Network. We working on season 4 right now, that’s four seasons. And I’m not an actor on it; I’m a producer of it, get that straight. Oh, by the way, I just signed my second book deal, ‘Win From Within’ is out now go buy it. I also have other streams, and I’ve also been wise with my savings and investments.”
“I have been patient my whole life for this moment. I’m 45; I’m supposed to wait till I’m 70 to live my best life? And my best life is seeing my wife happy. It’s not like I’m sitting up trying to do something for me. I want my wife to be happy.”
Gray says he went to a car presentation that showcased the luxury Lamborghini and got emotional when talking about the way his wife lit up when she saw the car.
“I saw my wife’s eyes light up,” he said. “She said, ‘This would be a dream,’ and that’s all she had to say.”
He made it clear that the car was not paid in full and that he put down a ‘faith deposit’ in February. Gray was called a pig, selfish, and even trashy, but his wife came to his defense and said the internet trolls “Will stay off my husband!” with the hand clapping emoji.
“I don’t see anyone screaming about how basketball players drive what they do while you paying $$$ to see them play in arenas and on fields. We don’t live for people! We live for God,” she said.

Gray may be getting ridiculed now, but the pastor made headlines last month for an amazing gesture that helped many people at his congregation in South Carolina, Relentless Church.
“The role of the church is also to meet the needs of people in the house. Any single mothers in here? Any widows? Are there any single father, any veterans that don’t have what they need to make ends meet? Come to the altar. There’s some money in these baskets.”
The video was posted on Facebook and received over 190k views and received an outpour of love and accolades for the pastor’s gesture.
Pastor Gray explained that the church is brand new and doesn’t have much of a cushion but they believe in God to make ends meet.
“Out church is six months old. We don’t have a war chest of money. We believe God every week for what we need. But God told me after we collected offering to leave it at the altar. And then let those who had needs get what they needed from the offering baskets. I love my church. This is church. Book of Acts style,” he said.
Although a pastor, Gray says he is a husband first, “God helped me to make my wife’s dream come true? Why not? She’s made mine come true!”
