One day before Election Day, Andrew Gillum hosts a midnight rally at his former school Florida A&M University.
Those headlining Gillum’s rally include P. Diddy, DJ Khaled, Tiffany Haddish and Will Packer. The celebrities also brought out a number of other popular artists and public figures, such as Angela Rye, Monica, Quavo, and Fat Joe.
The doors to the rally opened at 8:30 pm. A pre-rally began at 10 p.m. and 12 a.m. the real party began.
P. Diddy appeared on stage and began to speak to students and staff about the importance of voting. Diddy explained to the crowd that he supports Gillum, “because he’s the best man for the job, not because he’s black. We are in the midst of a black excellence moment.”
Diddy then brought out a string of artist, comedians and public figures to support the cause. They each performed and encouraged attendees to vote for Gillum. Diddy’s sons, Christian and Prince Combs were also among the superstar group. They all wore shirts that read “Vote or Die!” across them.
Gillum was the last to reach the stage. “What’s going on Rattlers?” he said as he was greeted on stage. Once the mic was passed over to him, Gillum gave a touching speech and encouraged all to vote at the polls the following day.
The group posed for a photo backstage after the rally was over.
