The art of debate is a wonderful competitive discipline for our nation’s young people to be involved in.

It helps them utilize their communication skills effectively and it also helps them to positively harness the things they truly believe in. These are valuable aspects of life that will help them gain solid ground in a number of career fields when they reach adulthood. Participating in organized debate teams is a great way to start.

In New York City, New York, the debate team at Achievement First Brooklyn High School has been working hard this academic school year to prepare for a national debate championship competition. K.M. DiColandrea is a public speaking teacher at Achievement First and also serves as the head coach of the debate team.
