New York Principal Arrested For Beating 7-Year-Old Boy For Misbehaving

A New York school principal has been arrested for allegedly beating a seven-year-old boy for being disruptive.

Machael Spencer-Edwards, 42, is accused of pulling Hasheem Welch from the cafeteria at P.S. 202 in East New York last month and hitting and kicking him in the school hallway.

Police said the principal was caught on camera taking the boy from the cafeteria on March 13 after spotting him running around wearing a banned hoodie.

The second-grader suffered bruising to his face and stomach, according to pictures obtained by Pix11.

‘He lifted up his shirt, his stomach was green and blue,’ his mother¬†Shema McKenzie told CBS2.

Hasheem had allegedly hit a teacher but Ms McKenzie said she wasn’t notified for several days.

Spencer-Edwards was arrested on Tuesday following a month-long investigation. He faces charges of assault and acting in a manner injurious to a child.

The principal reportedly told police Hasheem was acting in a manner that he disapproved of and was using the corporal punishment to teach him a lesson.
