In an interview with Buzzfeed’s Jim DeRogatis, the reporter who’s covered the R. Kelly sex abuse allegations for many years, Jerhonda Pace claims she had sex with R. Kelly when she as sixteen and that when she eventually tried break things off with the singer, he became violent.
Pace, who says she’s broken a non-disclosure agreement with Kelly to speak publicly about her alleged experience, says she met the singer when she was 15, during the time she attended his 2008 child pornography trial and defended him to the press. It was after the trial ended that she developed a sexual relationship with him when she was 16.
“At the time, I didn’t know what I liked, honestly,” Pace tells Buzzfeed, explaining why she complied with R. Kelly’s rules, which she says included asking permission to shower, eat, go to the bathroom, and leave the property. “I just knew that I liked his music, so I was pretty much accepting of anything that came with him at the time.”
