Lucy McBath Wins U.S Seat As Representative Of Georgia’s Sixth Congressional District

Lucy McBath is heading to the office.

On Wednesday, McBath claimed the seat of Republican Karen Handel as representative of Georgia’s Sixth Congressional District.

The two women locked into a recount early Wednesday morning, but, McBath still conquered the battle.

Claiming her victory, she wrote on Twitter, “This win is just the beginning. We’ve sent a strong message to the entire country. Absolutely nothing – no politician & no special interest – is more powerful than a mother on a mission.”

McBath is known as a mother who lost her son during a hate crime in Florida.

In 2012, McBath’s son Jordan Davis was with his friends at a gas station the day after Thanksgiving.

A man by the Micahel Dunn became angry because the 17-year-old and his friends were playing loud music inside of their vehicle.
