The Tony Award-winning Broadway titan is embroiled in a litany of allegations, which accuse him of forcibly imposing himself on young women.
Prior to a few days ago, Ben Vereen (pictured) was regarded by many to be one of the most legendary figures in Broadway playwright history. Now he has fallen into a sunken place in today’s entertainment world.
Vereen, 71, has won a Tony Award for Best Lead Actor in a Musical for his performance in Pippin at the Imperial Theatre in the early 1970s. In addition to being a stalwart on Broadway, Vereen has also starred in a number of notable motion pictures, including Why Do Fools Fall In Love (1998) and Idlewild (2006).
Vereen has a number of friendships with powerful people inside the entertainment business and he has been revered for his work ethic and a lifetime of dedication to the world of theatre, television, and film. However, this latest scandal involving some very sick allegations against Vereen may salvage the good name he has worked so hard for.
