Donald Trump Forces Attorney General Jeff Sessions Out Of Office

Donald Trump has forced Attorney General Jeff Sessions to resign.

“At your request, I am submitting my resignation,” Sessions wrote in his resignation letter to the Trump.

Trump announced that Matthew Whitaker will take his place as interim.

“We are pleased to announce that Matthew G. Whitaker, Chief of Staff to Attorney General Jeff Sessions at the Department of Justice, will become our new Acting Attorney General of the United States. He will serve our Country well,”

In a separate tweet, Trump later added, “We thank Attorney General Jeff Sessions for his service, and wish him well! A permanent replacement will be nominated at a later date.”

At one point, Sessions was one of Trump’s most loyal supporters as an Alabama Republican senator.
