Black Women Rock In Texas As 19 Of Them Won The Race To Become Judge

The local judicial race in Houston Texas welcomed 19 black women on Tuesday night to office who ran for various judicial seats in Harris County. This marks the single biggest victory for black women in the county’s history. Although Democrat Beto O’Rourke loss to Republican Ted Cruz in the race for Senate Texas natives are overjoyed with the great news hashtagging Houston 19.
One Twitter user said the great thing about the senate race in Texas is that O’Rourke brought people to the polls and this year they made it count. “On great thing that Beto O’Rourke did was help drive folks to the polls! As a result, these 19 black women were all elected as judges in Houston Harris County, Texas!”
Another agreed to say that Beto’s loss was hard to swallow but still made a huge change in Texas. “Heartbroken that Beto O’Rourke didn’t win the race, but he helped to give Texas it’s biggest political shirt since 2010. All 19 black women judges won their race in Houston. Dems flipped 12 seats in the Texas House and 2 in Congress. Beto helped make all of this and more happen.”
