A Louisville Man Now Owns Three Restaurants After Being Homeless And Incarcerated
28 Year-Old Darnell Ferguson is now the founder and owner of Super Chef’s restaurant after leading a hard life early on. Ferguson knew he wanted to become a chef when he attended vocational school and was inspired while watching chef Emeril on television.
After vocational school, Darnell was scouted by Sullivan University in Louisville where he planned to fine tune his chef skills in the Culinary Arts program. He would later find out that his scholarship was not enough to cover all cost of school which resulted in him being a part-time student.
He stayed the course and was selected to be apart of the 2008 Olympic Team in Beijing China at just 21 years-old. Ferguson was one of two African American amateur chefs to be chosen with a total of 22 students.
