A Wisconsin Infant Was Murdered By A Ten-Year-Old Girl At Their Daycare; His Father Has Finally Spoken Out

A Wisconsin father was left in shambles when his infant son was murdered at his daycare.
Three weeks after the incident occurred, Nate Liedl has finally spoken out against the 10-year-old girl responsible for the crime.
On November 1, Liedl’s 6-month-old son, Jaxon, died from multiple skull fractures.
Jaxon was taken away from Chippewa Falls daycare to a local hospital on October 30, after the 10-year-old girl, who has not yet been identified, intentionally stomped on his head multiple times.
Liedl said, Jaxon, appeared to be doing okay until he was airlifted to another hospital in Minnesota. At that point, the seriousness of the situation was noticed.
“They had mentioned, ‘What are we going to do if his heart stops?’ And it caught me completely off guard,” he told the local news station, KTRK. “I had sent a couple messages out to [my] family to let them know that Jaxon’s not going to make it. I remember, I broke down out there pretty bad. Yeah, it really hit hard.”
When the police interviewed the woman who runs the daycare, she said on the day of the incident she had been watching six children in total, including the 10-year-old girl and the infant.
She claims the baby was sleeping inside the home, so, she told all of the children to stay outside to play. But the suspected killer was seen inside the house moments before the baby was found bleeding.
Court officials said the incident began as an accident that spiraled out of control. The 10-year-old girl first picked up the baby but accidentally dropped him which caused him to hit his head. She then stomped on his head because she “didn’t know what to do and didn’t want to get into trouble.”
At the time of time of the incident, the girl was one of the daycare owner’s foster children.
Liedl told PEOPLE, that he was not upset with the daycare for incident happening,
“I believe that it could’ve happened to anyone. … No one would imagine what [the girl] would do.”
The ten-year-old girl appeared in Chippewa court a week later and was charged as an adult with “first-degree intentional homicide.” According to the Minneapolis Star Tribune, the girl’s case will most likely transfer to juvenile court. But because she is at least 10 years old, her case was required to begin in adult court.
Liedl said he feels no remorse for the young girl because of her age, he says she’s still a criminal.
“As opposed to seeing it as a 10-year-old girl, I saw it as the person who killed my son,” he said. “And she, in my opinion, deserved to be in shackles or handcuffs. She’s a criminal.”
Liedl said he went to the girl’s hearing because he wanted her to see him. The young girl clung to her foster mother and sobbed the entire time she was in court.
Liedl released a number of happy pictures and videos of his son because that’s how he wants people to remember his baby boy. He was a “happy, bubbly and smiling baby boy,” he does not want people to dwell on the violent attack he had to endure before his death.
“I waited 37 years for my own little baby boy,” he said. “I was extremely lucky because he didn’t cry, no fussing. He was happy smiles all the time.”
Liedl and Jaxon’s mother are not together. Months prior to his death, the parents were scheduled to attend a hearing for Leidl to have more visitation time with his son, but, it never happened.
He says since the death of Jaxon he’s received an enormous amount of support from family, friends, and people who have seen his son’s story.
