At Age 29, A Virginia Woman Started An Organization In Which She Used Couponing To Meet Her Goal Of Donating 30,000 Meals To Needy People Before Her 30th Birthday This September.
A mother from Virginia has managed to feed 30,000 meals to hungry people — all before she turned 30.
Lauren Puryear is still only 29, and doesn’t hit the milestone birthday until September. Yet she’s already collected and served enough food meet her lofty goal.
Two weeks ago, she announced the good news on Facebook, explaining how what started as a solo couponing mission became so much bigger.
‘[My grandmother] always taught us to help other people and to love other people,’ Puryear told Scary Mommy last year. ‘I know that she would want me to carry on her legacy.’
Lauren turned to couponing to help fund the project and found that it made it possible for her to feed even more people.
‘After I couponed for 50 jars of Ragu sauce and 100 boxes of Barilla pasta all for FREE, I knew I was going to make a difference in the world,’ she said, adding that she can feed up to 150 people for just $20 by utilizing coupons.
