Songwriting-Production Team Jimmy Jam And Terry Lewis To Receive Voice of Music Award

Hot on the heels of Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis’ recent induction into the Songwriters Hall of Fame comes another honor for the famed songwriting-production duo.

The performers’ rights organization ASCAP will present Jimmy and Terry with its Voice of Music Award at the 30th annual ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Music Awards on June 22 in Los Angeles.

The five-time Grammy winning pair are best known for crafting countless hits, among them Mariah Carey’s “Thank God I Found You,” Usher’s “U Remind Me” and Boyz II Men’s “On Bended Knee.”  They also co-wrote and co-produced Janet Jackson’s albums Control and Rhythm Nation 1814.

They’ve also earned eight ASCAP Songwriter of the Year awards and 16 #1 pop hits.  No other songwriting and production team have racked up that many #1s.

The late Notorious B.I.G. will also be honored with the ASCAP Founders Award at the same event.
