“I’m not eating. I’m not sleeping. I’m just worried about my family,” said Tanya Tripp, LaTania’s mother. “If y’all see them please call authorities and help my family get home.”
Latonia ‘Janelle’ Carwell, 16, has been missing from her home in Augusta since around 1:30am on April 17th, which was her 16th birthday. She left home with her stepdad, 38-year-old Leon Tripp. He told Tanya Tripp, his wife that he was taking her daughter with him to help a friend who had car trouble.
“I got her because you’re sick and he said I didn’t want to bother you so I asked our daughter would she go and help me find Maurice,” Tripp said, and according to her interview on WJBF, added that she had cancer and a few other illnesses. “He said he had a call from a friend who was stuck on the side of the road in Clarks Hill.”
