Microwave Relationships, by Dana Miller
There is no such thing as an instant relationship. You’ve got to do the work. ~ Dana Miller
I had this conversation with a friend the other day. In this day and age of instant access and social media we are living our lives that way… more than 150 characters and you have lost most people. We are having text relationships, inbox flings, and Instagram romance. And once we get together it’s time for sex. The art of real conversation and connection is being lost.
Who has time to ask the real questions to try to get to know the real person? People’s mindset is, “I have seen his/her Facebook post, Twitter feeds, and Instagram photos. We had a date or two…sex…now we’re in love!
Back in the day you had to have real conversation… in person or over the phone. Those were your only forms of communication. You had the chance to get to know someone while falling asleep on the phone! lol (but ya’ll don’t hear me)… There is no such thing as an instant relationship. You got to do the work. ~ Dana Miller
Michael Baisden’s Response— Great Job Dana! Thanks for responding to my commentary, “Put All Your Cards On The Table.” No matter how much times change there will never be a substitute for intelligence engaging conversation.
