Alicia Keys’ dreams certainly helped the superstar achieve an extraordinary career and the Grammy winner wants nearly 800,000 undocumented immigrants in America called DREAMers to reach for the stars as well. With several inspiring tweets, the singer recently showed her support of former President Barack Obama’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, which the Trump administration has repealed.
“All Children should have a field of dreams to play in. They should be safely wrapped in the security of the endless potential within them,” she writes under a picture of her sharing a laugh with her own two children, Egypt and Genesis. Alicia also shared a portrait on Instagram, which scored over 364,000 likes since it was posted on Thursday.
DACA, initiated by Obama in 2012, allowed individuals coming to the U.S. before their 16th birthdays the ability to register to remain in the country if they met certain educational and criminal record check requirements and paid a fee.
